Sunday Stealing: Cupid's Questions Meme

Cupid's Questions Meme

from Kodelaine

1.)Do you like Valentine's Day?
I'm fairly indifferent to it

2.)Are you going to celebrate it?
Husband and I will probably exchange cards, that's about it.

3.)Celebrate Valentine's Day with Friends or someone Special?
Someone special

4.)Pink or red?

5.)Candy Hearts OR cards?
Candy hearts....thanks for reminding me to go out and get some!   :)

6.)A short kiss or a big hug?

7.)What are your plans for V-day?
Whatever's just another day around here, like I said...we don't "do" Hallmark holidays.

8.)What would be the best gift to receive?
Not to be bombarded with all the societal expectations of Valentines Day!

9.)Would get back with any of your ex's for V-day?
Not a chance!!!

10.)Is there a food or beverage you associate with V-day?
Candy hearts, as mentioned above....and red velvet cake.

11.) What are your thoughts on "Love at first sight"?
Don't believe in it. I think it takes time to really get to know and love someone. You can have physical attraction/lust at first sight, but someone can be really good looking and be a total jerk once you get to know them.

12.)Do you think people who have dated can stay friends?
Yes, in some cases.

13.) If you could go back in time and give yourself one piece of advice about dating or relationships what would it be?
Wait.....better things are coming.

  1. Oooh, red velvet cake--especially heart shaped, would be divine!

  2. Yes, I know about the real good looking person who is a jerk, so I agree--you can lust at first sight, but one needs to take the time to fall in love.

And I agree with the societal expectations! Ugh!

  3. As I've been reading through all of the answers to this meme, it's becoming clear that hearts and valentines are two different things. Agreed, it's time to ban this concocted holiday. It IS just a Hallmark bit of nonsense that hurts. My dd's are right; you are all right.

Hearts are from the Virginia hills, where my grandmother was from. Women put them on quilts and on lots of stuff they made. I've loved them from babyhood, probably.
